What to Wear? The question of what to wear comes up quite often. Alaska is a very relaxed state, with unlimited daylight in the summer and wide-open spaces for hiking and sightseeing. I recommend bringing comfortable pants, sweatshirt, tee shirts, and polar fleece jacket to be worn in layers. A hat, sunglasses,high top hiking style shoes with good traction and socks for hiking , light pair of gloves, binoculars, and camera. Use a fanny pack and keep your hands free. The park area is colder the further you travel inside the boundaries which is over 90 miles.
